MEDIA ADVISORY: Nashville Unions and Workers Unite to Reclaim Power from Billionaires on Labor Day

Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10AM

WHAT:

On Saturday, September 6th people in Middle TN will be holding a solidarity event that sends a clear message to billionaires and union-busters on Workers’ Labor Day: We built this country, and we’re taking it back.

This year’s visibility parade and celebration is a powerful closeout to the national Workers Deserve Week of Action. The Nashville events come as the AFL-CIO concludes their “It’s Better in a Union: Fighting for Freedom, Fairness and Security” bus tour, which crisscrossed the country, including in Nashville, to highlight workers’ fights to organize, win fair contracts, and counteract the impact that reckless policies are having on their lives.

This Workers’ Labor Day, the American people are rooting for workers fighting for what they deserve ––like those at Blue Oval in Glendale KY who are fighting to form a Union. With 70% of Americans, and nearly 9 out of 10 young people, supporting unions, the fight for freedom, fairness, and security has never been more popular. At this year’s Labor Day observance, workers will share how attacks from billionaire CEOs and the Trump administration on their jobs, their health care, and their communities have made people hungrier than ever to speak out and to join a union.
